THE SAN JOAQUIN NET
1959 - 1991
DEDICATION

This Edition is dedicated to all members, past and present of the San Joaquin Net.

Our founders created the firm foundation for the net, and then in turn, the torch has been passed to the numerous members who have contributed what was needed to build on that foundation.

Thirty Two years may be just a flick of an eyelash in the great scheme of things, but it is a long, long time for an idea to be carried on so well by so many, which is a good reason for our faith that it will continue for many more happy years.

This edition is also dedicated most lovingly to the YL's of the OM's and the OM's of the YL's, past, present and future; Those wonderful YL's and OM's that had cold and late meals; the Janes, Junes, Bills and Bobs and many, many more who, by their patience and understanding, have enabled us to make our net what it is today.

Author's Preface

It became evident at a certain point in time that a document like this needs to be written. I've been the secretary-treasurer for four years and a member of the San Joaquin Net since 1977. When I realized that no History has been written, it seemed that the time had arrived to publish the history, this our thirty second year.

I commenced reading through what records were available, so many have been lost over the years. I asked our Net Manager, Bud Odgers, WA6OVE for help. Bud made copies of all of his roll call sheets, pictures of the various Roeding Park Picnics and gatherings throughout the years. Miles WB6GBJ and Dick WB6OTB sent copies of early By-Laws. Francis W6HLM sent many of the early Roll Call Sheets. Pictures of some members were donated by John N6ECH, Ron N6EMU and Pat Pinheiro, YL of our silent key , K6IFL. I apologize if I have left anyone out.

My sincere appreciation to all who have contributed information and help.
